The ancient town of Hoi An in Quang Nam Province will hold some cultural activities on the occasion of its 7th anniversary of being recognized as a world cultural heritage site, which will fall on December 4.
If you like to run cross-country, attend a race with more than 1,000 youths and visitors on November 23. There will also be two exhibitions taking place from November 23 to December 4.
One exhibition, named Pho Xua Ngay Moi (old street, new day), will be undertaken by the Hoi An Photography Club at 55 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street.
Meanwhile, another exhibition will display fine artwork made by local and foreign painters to offer Hoi An with one photo set of its achievements during the seven years since it was recognized as a world heritage site by UNESCO.
A seminar on the industry of traditional trade villages in Hoi An will be chaired by the Hoi An Town People’s Committee late this month.
An exhibition by Hoi An prize-Linden Group will take place at 155B Tran Phu Street from December 4 to 1 January 2007.
A ceremony will mark the beginning of work on a statue of late architect Kazic at a park located at 138 Tran Phu Street on November 30.
An inauguration of the An Hoi statue garden and a meeting marking Hoi An’s 7th anniversary of being recognized as a world cultural heritage site will be held at Cau Pagoda area in December 4.
On the occasion, Hoi An will publish a publication on a map directing vestiges and the charms of Hoi An, hold a contest for children with the subject “I love the ancient town, my homeland, and hold the ancient town night.”
All tourists can enter free of charge to visit vestiges and museums on December 4.
